* Consider changing all external locks when you move house.

* If you trust you neighbours think about leaving a spare key with them or a nearby relative.

* If you have a burglar alarm make sure it is activated when leaving.

 

* If you have a shed make sure it is locked. Burglars will use your tools to break in.

 

* If you are going on holiday cancel your papers and milk, ask a neighbour to make sure any post is pushed through the door properly.

 

* Cut your lawn before you go away.
